Privacy and cookies

Last updated: 6 October 2026

Vinofilo is an online magazine: you read it, it does not ask you to register, it sells nothing and it has no newsletter. This page explains what data is nevertheless exchanged when you visit the site, who handles it and what rights you have.

Who the data controller is

The data controller is Another Perspective Pictures S.r.l., Via Monte Napoleone 21, 20121 Milano.

For any question or request concerning personal data, write to [email protected].

What data is processed

The site does not collect data through forms and does not use any profiling or advertising tools. It uses one analytics tool, Google Analytics, only if the visitor accepts it (see below).

The first kind of processing is technical, and unavoidable in order to deliver pages to the browser: when a page is opened, the servers that deliver it record information such as the IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested and the type of browser. This information is used to make the site work, to protect it from abuse and attacks and to fix any technical problems.

The legal basis is the controller’s legitimate interest in publishing a working and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the “GDPR”).

Who runs the site technically

  • GitHub (GitHub Inc., part of the Microsoft group) hosts the site’s pages.
  • Cloudflare (Cloudflare Inc.) manages the domain and acts as an intermediary between the visitor and the site, partly to protect it from malicious traffic.

These providers process technical data in accordance with their own privacy notices and may store it on servers outside the European Union, in particular in the United States. These transfers take place on the basis of the safeguards provided for by the GDPR, namely the adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which these providers declare that they adhere, or the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

The typefaces are also hosted on the site itself: opening a page does not involve any requests to external font services.

Visitor statistics

If the visitor accepts in the banner, the site uses Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) to find out, in aggregate form, how many people visit it, which articles they read and where they come from (search engines, social media, links). It is used only to understand which content works, not for advertising or profiling.

Google Analytics 4 does not record or store the full IP address. The data remains in the controller’s Analytics account for the configured period (14 months) and may also be processed by Google outside the European Union, with the safeguards described above.

The legal basis is consent (Art. 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). Without consent, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. Consent can be withdrawn at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page.

Cookies

Vinofilo does not use profiling cookies or third-party cookies for advertising purposes. It uses:

  • Google Analytics statistics cookies (_ga and _ga_ followed by a code), only after consent, with a lifetime of up to 2 years;
  • a preference saved in the browser (vf_consenso, in the browser’s local storage and not as a cookie) that remembers the choice made in the banner for 6 months, so that the banner does not reappear on every page.

If you decline, no statistics cookies are set and any that are already present are deleted.

Cloudflare may set technical security cookies (for example __cf_bm) whose only purpose is to distinguish real visitors from automated traffic. They are strictly necessary for the secure operation of the site and, according to the guidelines of the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (the Italian Data Protection Authority), do not require consent.

Should the site introduce other non-technical cookies in the future, this page will be updated and, where necessary, consent will be requested before they are activated.

How long data is kept

Technical data is kept by the providers for the time strictly necessary for the purposes stated, in accordance with their policies, unless it is needed for longer to investigate possible abuse or offences.

The rights of site visitors

Visitors to the site may at any time request access to their data, its rectification or erasure, or the restriction of processing, and may object to processing based on legitimate interest (Articles 15–22 of the GDPR). Simply write to [email protected].

Anyone who believes that the processing infringes the law may lodge a complaint with the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).

External links

Articles may contain links to other websites. Once you leave Vinofilo, the privacy notices of those sites apply, and the controller has no control over them.
